This is Sirius!

Dogon Tribe of Africa
As promised, I decided to build upon my last post, and go over some of the tribes and such that believe they, or rather their ancestors originate from other planets and star systems.

The Dogon of West Africa:

The Dogon tribe, which has ties to ancient egypt, seem to have advanced knowledge of astronomy, most importantly of stars near Sirius that can't be seen with the naked eye. They believe that their existence originates from Sirius B, and have knowledge of orbit patterns that it took scientists years to chart out using infrared imaging.

The Anunnaki:

Ancient Sumerian tablets found seem to reveal a legend about a race of beings coming from the stars, and engineering humans for slave labor, mostly for mining things such as gold, which also has a proven use in our own space fairing technology. From this some people believe that humans are a hybrid of what they were, and something that was naturally on earth.

An Earth like Planet Found:

Recently, an earth like planet was discovered within the Goldilocks zone (Just right for life) of a star much like our own Sol. It possibly has water, and it is shown to have a rocky surface, a gravitational pull strong enough to hold on to an atmosphere, and temperatures that make liquid water pooling on the surface possible. This planet is relatively close, 20 light years, but not any distance we can travel ourselves today, and unfortunately, our current technology will not allow us to test for chemical signs of life in the atmosphere yet either. Still, this shows promise that other planets can sustain life as we know it.

Anyway, that's what I currently have to say on the subject, Ancient Aliens Season 2 starts tonight on History, so if you're interested check it out.

Alien Theories

From Stargate SG-1
Hello everyone, it's been a few days, but I figured I should post again, so, I thought I'd talk a bit about some of the theories I've heard, and some of the theories I have, of alien visitation and life forms.

1. The Universe is huge.

It is rather arrogant to think that we are the only form of sentient life out there, there is way too much space, way too many stars with way too many planets that can ever be counted by anyone. So, odds are that there are planets something like earth, with something like life as we know it. Although who's to say that life elsewhere would need anything like earth at all? Most of that life we may never encounter, and thus never know about it.

2. Signs on earth.
One of the strange Nazca line markings

Things like this here, that have been proven to be ancient, and can only be seen for what they are from above, shows evidence that either we once had much better technology than historians think we did, or that something else had carved these into the ground as a sign, signal, or road marker for a strange visitor. Either way it should be investigated in more detail.

3. Historical evidence

There are a lot of strange things documented, of flying vehicles, odd things in the sky, different airships at war with each other, and even places that show evidence of what may have been a nuclear blast killing people as would one of our own warheads today.

There are many odd paintings that depict strange objects that look like the ones that have been reported in modern times as well.

4. Things that have happened recently

I've heard from various news sites and broadcasts that the UN is looking to appoint ambassadors for outer space affairs. So I think that this says that something is up. Stephen Hawking is urging the world to go to complete radio silence as to any signals that are accidentally, or purposely sent into space, from fear of contacting an advanced alien race that may enslave, or otherwise destroy humanity. Also the catholic church has begun their own SETI like program, and told the masses that a belief in extraterrestrials is not in conflict with a belief in God.
The Space Pope!
So, I think someone knows more than they let on.

Anyway, sorry about not posting much lately, been distracted, and unmotivated to write much as of late. But hopefully I'll have some more ideas, weird dreams, or other things to post about.

The World Has Moved On...

Hello everyone, as some of you may know yesterday brought a lot of changes to world of warcraft, some of which I'm not all that thrilled with, such as the talent lock, which prevents advanced players from making hybrid specs, not to mention the fact that players have so few talent points to choose from. It did bring some positive changes to the UI and some of the new guild features though. I'll see how things shape up as cataclysm draws nearer though.

Taken from http://www.wow.joystiq.com/

Anyway, I'd like to go on to point out some of the things that exist in pop culture that should really die.

Reality TV:

Seriously, hated it when they started it, still hate it to this day. TV is supposed to be a way to escape reality, not embrace it. I could care less about what this or that celebrity is having for lunch, or getting prosthetic implants for their dog so it can feel like a man again... A huge sign that American culture is heading down the toilet and fast.

Yes, she makes out with him.

And that doesn't even cover all the retarded "game" shows that has people eating garbage for small amounts of money. I guess the average price of dignity is pretty low now a days.
This is just sad.
The Twilight Craze:

I'm not going to badmouth the book, or the writer here, but rather the insanity of some of the fans out there.
It's great that it's getting the young to start to read actual books again, but the fact that so many girls are now looking for a 100 year old pedo-pire who sparkles, and will settle for nothing less than that, unless it's a topless Native American werewolf who also has a thing for babies, not making them, mind you. Seriously, it's sad, looking for some of the personality traits is one thing, but actually wanting a real vampire who probably won't have sex with you, and the one time he does, you'll be pregnant.

We all know how it's going to go anyways.

Gangsta speak:

It's not as bad when it's part of a "song" as it's poetic licence, such as Dr.Seuss would use in his books.
What up, yo?
But in the spoken world, it's just annoying, and sounds ignorant. And sadly people actually petitioned congress to make it a recognized language, and have it taught to children in schools.

Well, this is a sad world we currently reside in, but, if more people would step up to being individuals, instead of wandering sheep, things may actually improve. So, it's up to you, dear readers, to try to make the world a better place. Remember, only you can prevent bad pop culture!

In the begining...

Hello everyone who might one day read this. I decided to start a blog, due to both a new friend of mine's love of blogging, Morgan, and another old friend, Brittany, who recently started a blog yesterday.

My name is Michael, I like to write, poems and songs mostly, stories too, but I am generally saving those for when I can begin my career in game design, which I will hopefully be able to start school for in the next semester. I love music, I listen mostly to different types of rock, but I like other things as well, just not rap and country, save for a rare song that actually meant something. I'm also a gamer, but you probably figured that out given the career I want to get into. I play World of Warcraft, and am trying to get a good guild going on the Ysera server for me and my friends, and of course to raid. I play console games also, I pretty much have every system in the current generation, but I do know that reality and responsibility comes first, sadly this isn't always the case with people, as I heard that a baby starved to death in south Korea because it's parents were too busy raising a virtual child.... So yeah, the world can be pretty messed up.

I've been injured for two years from an accident at the place I used to work, details I will go into in another post, but my left shoulder just hasn't worked right since getting hurt back in '08.

Anyway, I think that is enough of an intro, so I will go into the details of a dream I had the other night. It was a zombie apocalypse dream, where my family and I had barricaded ourselves in a mobile home that somehow also had weapons, food, fresh water, and a nuclear safe bomb shelter inside.
Via Google
The Zombies didn't get close that often, as they were usually picked off with my sniper rifle, but the ones that did get closer were usually taken care of by my sibling's shotguns, after a while, we see military in bio-hazard suits surveying the area, and they radio back to their HQ to nuke the area, we pick up the transmission, and get into the bomb shelter, and get the vault door shut just in time for the explosion. A little bit after we can hear the military outside with strange rifles that had laser saws mounted on them, and they begin cutting through the door, and I think I hear them say they want anyone inside eliminated due to possibility of infection. As they nearly finish cutting through the thick doors, that is when I awaken.

Kinda strange, but that is what my subconscious decided I needed to see that night.

Anyway, I think that this is enough for now, until I go at this again,

Michael
